The Taverner

The Taverner

The Taverner, now in its sixteenth successive year, continues to supply informed and authoritative information for the restaurant, pub and tavern industries in South Africa on a national basis. Posted publications are addressed to the owner/managers of Pubs, Taverns, Bars, Sports and Social Clubs, and Restaurants. Non posted copies are distributed through wholesale liquor outlets dealing specifically with the trade. Copies are also made available to various tavern associations, including SALTA, and their members throughout the country. As an association of individuals engaged in the packaging industry the Institute of Packaging, South Africa (IPSA) aims to promote high standards and professionalism in the packaging industry. IPSA provides opportunities for networking and education and promotes the recognition of packaging as a profession. Regular regional meetings include formal speaker presentations, factory visits and social events. Outstanding achievements in packaging are recognised by the IPSA Gold Pack Awards. The IPSA Student Gold Pack Awards are used as an educational tool and to promote packaging as a career amongst students of different disciplines. The IPSA One Year Diploma in Packaging Technology provides specialised training for those in the early stages of their career in packaging and the recently launched Advanced Packaging programme offers more specialised training for those more experienced in the field. The regularly updated IPSA Handbook of Packaging Technology is the student’s textbook as well as a handy reference for packaging professionals.

IPSA is a full member of the World Packaging Organisation and the African Packaging Organisation.
